TOWN OF PRINCETON
BOARD/COMMITTEE: PRINCETON CONSERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES
DATE: June 27, 2018 TIME: 7:00 LOCATION: Town Hall Annex
Attendance: Chairman Brian Keevan, Barbara Laughlin, Rachael Catlow, and Susan Mitchell
Brian Keevan called the meeting to order at 7:04 PM.
Votes taken in the following actions are “all in favor” unless noted otherwise.
Public Hearings:
Item 1: A public hearing was continued at 7:04 PM for a Lot 1 on Brooks Station Road (Dep File# 267-0411) for the construction of a driveway within the buffer zone of a BVW. The MassGIS database shows that the project is located in an area designated as an outstanding water resource area with a tributary to Cobb Brook. Commissioners attended a site walk mid-June 2018 and during the field reconnaissance, no tributary could be located. Additionally, there were no signs of standing water. A driveway located along the southern side of the wetland acts as a barrier to surface water flow. The Commission determined that the wetland area is not jurisdictional. The NOI will be withdrawn by the applicant. The Commission will prepare a letter to submit
to the applicant and the MassDEP to outline the reasons the wetlands is not jurisdictional and the project will be subject to any other state requirements and/or permits.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Item 1: The Commission ratified an Enforcement Order for 42 Greene Road property owned by Miguel Gonzales for tree clearing within jurisdictional wetland area and/or buffer zone.
Item 2: The Commission discussed the Town Pound work to remove hazardous trees. Brian will schedule a meeting with a local tree company to provide an estimate for the work.
Item 3: The Commission discussed possible earth removal activities at 143 Calamint Hill Road N. The Commission will request access to conduct a site walk to view the work area in relation to jurisdictional areas that might be present.
Commission Other Business, Mail, Procedures, etc.:
The next PCC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday July 17, 2018.

Meeting Adjourned at 7:50 PM.
Respectfully submitted, Barbara Laughlin
